Our dear friend Quest has asked us to convey a message about his current status. He doesn't want to go into much detail but he suffered a back injury last week that ultimately required hospitilization. He had an MRI Monday which indicated a 7 mm herniation at the L5-S1 level. He is under evaluation as to what the next course of treatment will be. He says he does not want visitors or calls yet and as soon as he does we will let everyone know. He is OK!! he just wanted you all to know what was going on and to send loving healing thoughts his way! We will keep you updated and what his needs and requests will be in the coming days..

Fri, August 7, 2009 - 10:42 AMOk those of you who have read Quests Blob post know that is due to come home Friday sometime. I believe his Dad is picking him up and taking him home to Marina Del Rey. Johnny is going over tonight sometime to help get him situated. ( We just happen to have a walker and all of the other in home aides he can use!)
We know a lot of you live on the west side and he will need some help with daily stuff. Mostly like errands and grocery shopping, maybe a sponge bath etc! And eventally rides to PT and the Dr.
Please let's put our schedules together and try to coordinate. A lot of us are pretty flexible and I would appreciate anyone who is a LOT more computer savvy to get a calendar up for volunteers..
The first week home is always the hardest.

I check both FB and Tribe everyday..
Believe me, after watching what Johnny went through for over a year and then months after his surgery, Quest will need help!

Quest is still in the hospital but his insurance is getting very antsy to kick him out, maybe to a rehab place before going home. But he is looking at getting the needed surgery ASAP. We had recently talked to Chris Ramsey (DJ Blue) at a party and he had the exact thing happen to him a couple of years ago so he recommended a couple of docs for Quest to talk to. One is at Cedars and the other at Scripps. Although the one at Scripps is further away he can take Quest ASAP. He needs to talk to his insurance. So we will talk to Quest and find out what the next step will be. Glad we ran into Chris because he called Quest right away and helped with reassuring him that sometimes getting the surgery as soon as possible as long as there aren't any other complications is the way to go...
will let you all know more as soon as we do:) Thank you for all the well wishing. I know when Quest feels up to it he will write again. He has this new gadget, I think it's a eyefone or something like that.......Oh modern technology! -

Thu, August 20, 2009 - 12:02 AMWord is, he's doing much better than he had expected. Last I heard he went home today. So we're going to start going over to keep him company and help out with the daily grind until he heals a bit more & really gets back on his feet.

He is doing well and progressing very quickly, but he has to be careful with some of his movements and is limited in his ability to do simple things like doing dishes and cooking food for a couple more weeks. Other than that, he seems to be healing up quite nicely. Yay! -
